Privacy on these preview pages
The public website introduces a platform in development. Personal accounts store your name, email, preferred language and protected sign-in information. Community modules are still in development.
The country message
To personalise “Coming soon”, your browser makes a request to Country.is. Like any website it connects to, that service receives your network IP address. It returns an approximate country; VPNs and network routing can affect the result. We use only the country code, not the returned IP address, and do not request GPS or precise location.
You can change the country or choose Worldwide. Only the chosen or estimated country code and its source are kept in your browser's session storage, when available, so the message stays consistent between these pages. The country is not added to the testing database. If lookup or storage is unavailable, the pages still work.
Page visits and model tests
When testing-review storage is enabled, this installation counts page visits and estimates browser sessions with a first-party session cookie. Counts are an estimate, not a precise number of people. The review store does not retain visitor IP addresses, location or raw browser identity. The hosting provider may maintain its own server access logs.
Model-testing calculations and submitted feedback are saved separately for private review when that facility is enabled. They are not public community posts. Avoid entering personal information you do not want included in a test record.
Posts, news and drafts
Drafts, submitted versions, source attribution and publishing history are stored in private platform storage. Authors can edit their own drafts. Assigned editors can read submitted versions for review; unsubmitted changes remain private. Published posts and news are visible to signed-in members, not automatically on the public landing page. Removing a published item withdraws it from the feed but keeps its draft, revisions and history. Social posts are published directly by their authors and remain subject to community reports and moderation. News requires editorial approval.
Attachments, organisations and reports
Dive-log attachments are private. Post attachments follow the approved version; replacement drafts remain private. Photo metadata is reduced to image and orientation information. Reports retain a published snapshot and referenced files as evidence. Authors see the decision, not the reporter identity or private report text. Explicit moderators can read the evidence. Organisation members receive only assigned publishing access. Removing a draft attachment does not erase copies retained by a live publication or report. Files are not scanned for malware; PDFs are download-only. Dive-log attachments are included in full ZIP exports for the updated app; community-post files are separate.
Phone notifications
Push-enabled app versions use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iPhone, Apple Push Notification service. These providers process the identifiers and delivery tokens needed to route notifications to the correct device and account. Buddy invitation notifications show the requesting member’s display name and profile photo (or the default avatar). These providers process this presentation content to deliver the notification. They do not receive dive-log data or email addresses in the notification. You can turn buddy alerts off in Settings → Alerts; incoming requests remain in Community. Phone notification permission can also be managed in your device settings.
Example content
The landing page's example posts and names illustrate the intended experience. The ocean images were generated for this design; they are not photographs documenting named customer dives or live news events.
